If you've followed my journey or booked a session with me, you’ve probably noticed that I use quite a few "woo-woo" words—spiritual, metaphysical, and energy-based terms that are part of my practice. I understand these concepts can feel a bit unfamiliar, especially if you're new to this world (I’m still fairly new here myself!), so I’ve put together this guide to break them down in simple, everyday language to help you understand what they mean and how I use them.
Here’s a little glossary of the woo-woo words I commonly use, with a clear, practical explanation for each one:
Alignment- What I say: “I feel more in alignment now that I’ve made that decision.”Layman’s terms: Alignment means being in harmony with your true self, values, and desires. When your actions, thoughts, and feelings are in sync, it leads to greater peace and flow in life.
Apports- What I say: “During the session, we might experience apports, which are gifts from spirit.”Layman’s terms: Apports are objects that seemingly appear from nowhere, believed to be brought by spirits or other supernatural forces as signs or gifts.
Astrology- What I say: “Astrology helps me understand the influence of the planets on our lives.”Layman’s terms: Astrology studies how the positions and movements of celestial bodies, like planets and stars, affect human events. Your birth chart provides a map of these influences at the time of your birth.
Chakras- What I say: “I work on balancing my chakras to feel more centred.”Layman’s terms: Chakras are energy centres in your body, linked to different aspects of your well-being. When balanced, you feel good; when blocked, you may feel off physically, mentally, or emotionally.
Channeling- What I say: “When I channel, I receive messages from spirit.”Layman’s terms: Channeling is the practice of tapping into higher wisdom or messages from spirit, whether from guides, the universe, or your subconscious.
Clairs (Clairvoyance, Clairaudience, etc.)- What I say: “I use my clairs to connect with spirit.”Layman’s terms: The "clairs" refer to different ways of receiving intuitive or psychic information:
Clairvoyance: Clear seeing (visions or mental images)
Clairaudience: Clear hearing (hearing messages or sounds)
Clairsentience: Clear feeling (feeling emotions or physical sensations)
Claircognizance: Clear knowing (a sudden understanding without knowing how)
Cord Cutting- What I say: “Cord cutting helps me release negative attachments to people or past events.”Layman’s terms: Cord cutting is a symbolic act of severing energetic ties to people, situations, or emotions that no longer serve you.
